Pharicode Feature: Michael Burney, Service Delivery Manager

By: Angela Roggero | Marketing Specialist

Our team at Pharicode is full of passionate, skilled, and enthusiastic developers, architects, and engineers. If there is one thing we all have in common, it is our passion for IT and business process improvement, especially for our federal clients.

This Pharicode Feature spotlights Michael Burney, Service Delivery Manager at Pharicode, based out of Austin, Texas.

How were you first introduced to ServiceNow? What was your first job using the platform?

Haha! Funny Story Time, I exited a coding boot camp, “Codeup”, and I knew that the only thing on this planet I wanted to do was to write JavaScript. So every interview I went into, I made it loud and obvious that I was only willing to work with JavaScript.

Well, the Accenture Federal Services interviewer said "I think the ServiceNow team uses JavaScript" which I met with "I will only do ServiceNow...What's ServiceNow?" Some PowerPoints, onboarding documentation, and HR training later and wham I'm developing in the platform for Federal/DoD/Fourth of State Clients.

What are your primary ServiceNow skills?

Request Management, ITSM, and HR have been in my wheelhouse for years now, along with Custom Applications. Lately, I've been very interested in digging into the HR side of things, the way the application is built out really makes it an enjoyable experience for developing and ongoing administration.

What are your plans for the future in your career and in the ServiceNow industry?

To continue taking over, duh! Haha, the mission hasn't changed. I plan to keep doing game-changing implementations for organizations that not only need it but deserve it.
